Errand Buddy Privacy Policy

Effective November 4, 2026

The short version: you sign in so your errands are backed up and stay in sync on your devices. We keep only what's needed for that: your sign-in details, the errands, lists and settings you create, and the profile details you add. There are no ads and no tracking, and we never sell your information. You can delete your account and everything in it from the app at any time.

Your account

To use Errand Buddy, you sign in with your email address (we send you a one-time code), with Apple, or with Google. We receive:

We also keep basic sign-in records, such as when your account was created and when you last signed in. We use this information only to run your account. We don't use it for marketing.

What we keep in your account

So you can use the app on more than one device and don't lose your errands, these are saved to your account:

Your account is stored with Supabase, our database provider, in the United States (West). Each account can only read and change its own data.

What stays on your phone

What leaves your phone, and why

Errand Buddy has a small server that keeps our service keys off your phone. It sends information to two services that do the work:

FeatureWhat is sentWho receives it
Sorting what you say or type into errands ("Just say it") The words you said or typed, and today's date Our server, then Anthropic (Claude), which splits the words into errands
Sharing a confirmation or screenshot to the app, each time you tap to confirm The text or picture you shared. A picture includes whatever is visible in it. Our server doesn't save it. Our server, then Anthropic (Claude), which finds the plans in it
Adding birthdays from your calendar, only if you allow it The titles of events in a birthdays calendar or labeled as a birthday. These can include other people's names. Our server, then Anthropic (Claude), which works out whose birthday it is
Copying calendar events and Apple Reminders to your errands, only if you allow it Each one's title and location (never its notes or guests). Your phone's own map service also looks up any address. Our server, then Anthropic (Claude), which fills in the errand's details
Place search and nearby suggestions What you type in the place or errand fields, the names of your go-to places, and your approximate location, rounded to about 1 km (0.6 miles) Our server, then Google (Google Maps Platform Places API)

For big game suggestions, the app asks our server for the coming week's schedule. Nothing about you is sent, only the dates. Our server gets the schedules from TheSportsDB. Which sports you follow, and the games you add or skip, are saved in your account.

Our server doesn't save what you send. It only forwards it and returns the answer. To avoid repeating the same search, it keeps recent place search results in memory for up to 6 hours. That memory isn't linked to you, and it's cleared whenever the server restarts.

Our server runs on Render. Like most hosting services, Render keeps standard technical logs for security and troubleshooting. These include your IP address, the time, and the web address the app requested, which can include your search words and approximate location. Render keeps these logs for a limited time.

Anthropic receives the text under its commercial terms. Under those terms, it doesn't use this text to train its models. Google receives search requests under the Google Maps Platform terms.

Voice

When you talk to the app, your phone's own speech recognition turns your voice into text (Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android). Depending on your phone and settings, that may happen on the device or on Apple's or Google's servers, under their privacy policies. Errand Buddy doesn't record or keep audio. Only the resulting text is sent, as described above.

Permissions

Each permission is optional. The app works without it, with fewer features. You can change them at any time in your phone's Settings.

What we don't do

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your account and its errands for as long as you have an account. Errands you delete are removed from your account, though a marker that they were deleted is kept so your other devices remove them too.

To delete everything: open the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and everything saved in it. Signing out only clears the phone; your account stays.

Our providers may keep backups or logs for a short time before they're overwritten.

Children

Errand Buddy isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. We ask for your date of birth when you set up the app. If it shows you're under 13, we delete your account and everything in it, and the app stops working on that phone. If you think a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Information sent between the app, our server, Supabase, Anthropic and Google is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and your account data is encrypted at rest by Supabase.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the app before it applies.
